GENERAL PROPERTIES

Nimonic alloy 90 is a wrought nickel-chromium-cobalt base alloy strengthened by additions of titanium and aluminium. It has been developed as an age-hardenable creep resisting alloy for service at temperatures up to 920°C (1688°F). The alloy is used for turbine blades, discs, forgings, ring sections and hot-working tools.

 

RESISTANCE TO CORROSION

Nimonic alloy 90 has excellent creep resistance, high creep rupture strength and good ductility. With high chromium content, Alloy 90 offers a good resistance to high temperature corrosion and oxidation resistance.

WELDING

Nimonic 90 is welded using shielded metal-arc welding, gas-tungsten arc welding, gas metal-arc welding, and submerged-arc welding methods.

 

HEAT TREATMENT

Nimonic 90 is heat treated by annealing at 1080°C (1975°F) for 8h followed by cooling.
