At the heart of a combined-cycle power plant is the gas turbine, the machine that has the power to make a good solution great. Heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbines are proven performers in a range of applications, capable of achieving world-class efficiency with next-generation capabilities. Industrial gas turbines differ from aeronautical designs in that the frames, bearings, and blading are of heavier construction. They are also much more closely integrated with the devices they power— often an electric generator—and the secondary-energy equipment that is used to recover residual energy.
