GENERAL PROPERTIES
Stainless steel grade 441 is a ferritic stainless steel containing niobium that provides the steel good oxidation and corrosion resistance. This steel provides good high-temperature strength in exhaust gas environments, and has good ductility, good weldability, good brightness and is good for deep drawing. It polishes well. The 441 flat rolled stainless steel possesses magnetic quality in all conditions.
RESISTANCE TO CORROSION
Type 441 is an 18% chromium, dual stabilized ferritic stainless steel with corrosion resistance similar to that of 304/304L stainless steel. Type 441 has good weldability due to titanium and niobium stabilization and has excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.

WELDING
Conventional welding methods and filler materials applied to austenitic 300-series can be used. Heat input in welding should be kept to a minimum level. Welded structures generally show lower ductility compared to that of base material.
